We have had a busy start to the year, after the dark and grey months of winter we can finally see the longer days and sunny afternoons. Firstly THANK YOU for choosing us to send special flowers to your friends and loved ones, we do appreciate you shopping locally!

In March we were interviewed by ITV to appear on the evening news featuring the local community and volunteers of Castle Cary. The article highlighted a few independent shops, and how we supported the high street and what it is like to work in this gorgeous somerset town.

This followed our famous five minutes with a feature on the front page of The Visitor magazine – which is a must read in the local area, we celebrated the beginning of our third-year trading.

This time of the year sees the woodlands, and grasslands bursting with spring flashes of Narcissus – bobbing their heads in the spring sunshine. We have on sale a range of planters including Narcissus and Hyacinths, with Hedera and Muscari bulbs – ideal for a quick pick up present – these are perfect as once the flowers have bloomed fully – the bulbs can simply be popped into the garden and will pop back up next year!

If you have received flowers for the home – there are a few top tips on preserving the life of the blooms!

Care Tips for Your Flowers

  1. Take off all packing – but keep in the tie bunch
  2. Re cut all the stems on a sharp angle with a knife
  3. Place in a vase of clean water with flower food and place not near a window or heat source
  4. Re cut the stems daily and change the vase water too

Flowers will last for at least 8 – 14 days if these tips are followed!

Keep lilies away from animals, remember to let us know when ordering of any special requirement to be included or not!
