Bring on lighter days30 January 2026 Flowers and Home Somerset Newsletter Bring on lighter days 1 A review of the last year! 2 What’s the trend for this year? 3 The Green Idea, update A look back at 2025 Phew, Christmas..... That was certainly a busy one. THANK YOU to everyone who shopped with us and shopped locally. It really is a community in the high street with all our fellow shop owners. Last November we supported Ladies Day at the local Wincanton Racecourse. What a great day out and everyone certainly entered into the spirit of things, looking wonderful in their best racing attire. The best dressed racegoers were treated to a hamper of goodies and of course a bouquet of flowers. We also created beautiful bouquets for many wedding couples, travelling all over the local county. The sun shone and everyone smiled. It is always such a privilege to be part of a couple’s happy day. We go on a creative journey to ensure the flowers are exactly as they dreamt of. What’s new and trending? We always look to Pantone colour predictions to help plan new trends for the coming year. The headline colour, along with its complementary palette, will show up across fashion, homewares, and of course flower choices, both in everyday gifting and wedding vibes too. PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer, “a lofty white that serves as a symbol of calming influence in a society rediscovering the value of quiet reflection A billowy white imbued with serenity, encourages true relaxation and focus, allowing the mind to wander and creativity to breathe, making room for innovation” Accessed - Pantone web site PANTONE® UK | Color of the Year 2026 This colour is a real base line for all types of occasions and colour ways, mixed with muted pale tones or vibrant clashes. Perfect for contemporary or country styles– to give a restful and thoughtful design, or a vibrant energy, the delicate simplicity of the white tones, allows all the other colours to sing and sparkle!! The Green Idea, update Just to keep you posted, I have completed the online course for The Sustainability Project I have been working on. I have to say it was a real eye opener and has got me thinking about every aspect of my life, both at work and at home, and how we as a family could make simple changes to help the bigger picture. We still send all our green stem waste to the local community gardens and growing allotment charities, which is proving to be very fruitful. Still more to do, so keep watching for updates in 2026. It’s an exciting start to the year and we look forward to welcoming you in. Don’t forget it’s 14th February for Valentine’s Day and 15th March for Mother’s Day, coming up very soon. Looking forward to what’s next We have a range of workshops still available to book. The workshop includes all the flowers and sundries required for each session, with as much tea or coffee as needed and of course cakes. Each session is held in the shop, Starting at 1pm and finishing at 3pm. These sessions can be purchased on the website or by phone, for yourself or as a great present for someone.
